Tova Caram, PMHNP-BC

Tova Caram is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with nearly 20 years of experience supporting individuals across the lifespan in a variety of mental health care settings. She works with adolescents ages 13 and up, as well as adults, and provides outpatient psychiatric evaluations, medication management, TMS, and Spravato treatment at Clearwave Mental Health’s Poughkeepsie and Kingston locations.

Tova takes a compassionate, collaborative, and individualized approach to care. She believes patients should feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their treatment. With a Certificate in Integrative Psychiatry, she looks beyond symptoms alone and considers the whole person, including sleep, nutrition, stress, movement, lifestyle, relationships, and overall wellness.

She has experience treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma-related symptoms, and treatment-resistant depression. When appropriate, she incorporates traditional psychiatric care, medication management, interventional treatments such as TMS and Spravato, and integrative strategies to support meaningful, lasting improvement.

Tova’s goal is to partner with each patient to better understand what is happening beneath the surface and develop a care plan that reflects their unique needs, values, and goals. She is committed to creating a supportive and trusting therapeutic relationship that helps patients work toward greater balance, resilience, and emotional well-being.
