Dr. Randy Pardell
Dr. Randy Pardell is a board-certified psychiatrist who has served New York patients since 1996 and provided TMS treatment since 2009. Dr. Pardell is the past president of the Clinical TMS Society and current president of the Foundation for the Advancement of Clinical TMS. Under his leadership, Clearwave has grown into a multidisciplinary mental health group offering psychiatry, therapy, TMS, and Spravato® across New York.

Questions about TMS Therapy
What is TMS therapy?
TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) is a non-invasive, FDA-cleared treatment that uses magnetic pulses to stimulate nerve cells in the brain. It is highly effective for depression, anxiety, and OCD, with minimal side effects when compared to medications.
How many TMS sessions will I need?
Many treatment plans include approximately 30-40 sessions over six to nine weeks, although the schedule varies based on diagnosis, treatment protocol, insurance requirements and clinical response.
Is TMS therapy covered by insurance?
Yes, TMS is recognized as a covered service by most health insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid plans. Coverage is approved case-by-case based on your history and diagnosis — our team handles the insurance authorization process for you.
Who is a good candidate for TMS?
TMS may be a good fit if you've been diagnosed with depression, OCD, or related anxiety, and haven't found enough relief from medication or therapy alone. The best way to know for sure is a free consultation, where we'll review your history and confirm candidacy together.
